Nathan Murphy

Coach Murphy has 17 years of football coaching experience that includes high school and college. As a student-athlete in college, Coach Murphy played football and ran track and field at the University of the South- Sewanee. He was an All-SCAC football selection as a running back and also played defensive back. Murphy's football career includes one year at the University of Alabama as well.

Currently, Nathan holds the NCAA single game record for the most punt returns for a touchdown with three in one game.

After his college playing career, Murphy jumped into coaching at the University of the South: Sewanee where he coached the running backs and defensive backs.

His first high school coaching stint came at Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia where he tutored the offense and served as the Middle School Head Football Coach. At Woodward Academy, he also coached track and field while specializing in coaching jumpers.

Murphy then transitioned to Discovery High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia where he coached for five seasons as the Special Teams Coordinator as well as the Co-offensive Coordinator. At Discovery High School he continued to coach track and field as well.

Nathan is going into his second season at Loganville Christian Academy while his wife (Nikki) is entering her first year as the LCA Head Track and Field Coach. Nathan and Nikki along with their children (Caleb and Brooke) are often found at the ball field or traveling to Alabama to cheer on the Crimson Tide.
